Delphinium F1 Aurora Series

Novelty Characteristics:
Hybrid series offers superior uniformity in time to flower, which is at least a month earlier than older open-pollinated varieties. Sturdy stems are covered with large florets that overlap and completely cover the stem.

Cut flower and bedding

Recommended Growing/Selling Form:
Sold green in packs or pots up to 4"
6"/gallon or 8"/2-gallon pots

Large florets completely cover stems

Colors Available:
Blue, Deep Purple, Lavender, Light Blue, Light Purple, White

Germination Conditions:
emergence 10-12 days / 65°F / cover with vermiculite, needs dark conditions for germination

Growing:
Temp:60-80°F day / 45-50°F night
EC:Maintain levels lower than open-pollenated varieties
pH: 6.0 to 7.5

Garden:
February to May plantings will flower during the summer and fall. For greenhouse production, sow seeds in the fall (Oct. to Dec.) for a March to May flowering time. During cooler times of hte year, cut back after flowering to initiate re-flowering , average of 6-7 weeks.

Notes:
Night interruption of 4 hours helps initiate flowering under short days
Higher fertility levels early in culture promotes plant size prior to flowering and results in best bloom quality
Keep soil well drained and cool as Delphiniums are susceptible to root rot
110 to 120 days to flower

 
*Trial was completed in the springtime in costal California. Rates suggested as a starting point. Growers should adjust rates according to their own growing conditions.
